Visiting golf
Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, by arrangement with the Secretary’s office. A round on the old park, then lunch in the Long Room.

How a visitor day works
Visitors play three days a week, in the morning or the early afternoon, and every day ends at the long table in the Long Room.

The request for has reached the Secretary’s office.
A member of the office will reply to within one working day, with the time or the nearest one free. Nothing is held until then.
This is a demonstration site, so nothing has been sent.
Green fees
Per player, for 2026. The summer rate runs from April to the end of October, the winter rate from November to the end of March.
Caddies, trolleys and buggies
Green fees and extras are paid by card in the Secretary’s office before you play. A member’s guest is the member’s responsibility, and pays at the guest rate.

On the day
A morning round, from the gravel to the long table. Times are for a 10.40 start.

Arrive an hour before
Park on the gravel by the stable yard. The Secretary’s office is in the House, through the front door and first on the left, and green fees are settled there.

The changing rooms
Below the Long Room, with lockers, towels and showers. Shoes are changed here rather than in the car park.

On the first tee
Two-balls have priority, and a round takes a little over three hours. Telephones are on silent from the first tee to the eighteenth green.
- 12.20
The halfway hut
Under the oak beside the 9th green: coffee, a sausage roll, something cold on a warm day. Settle up in the hut as you go.
- 14.00
Lunch in the Long Room
Two courses at the long table, or the terrace when the weather allows. Afternoon groups lunch before they play, from 12 o’clock.
Dress and telephones
- On the course
- Tailored trousers, or tailored shorts with socks, and a collared shirt. Soft spikes only, and no denim on the course.
- In the House
- Smart and relaxed by day. Jackets for gentlemen in the Long Room after six; no denim there in the evening.
- Telephones
- Silent on the course, and not used at all in the Library.
Society and company days
For groups of up to 32 players, Tuesday to Thursday from April to October, with a shotgun or two-tee start, lunch or dinner in the Long Room and the prize-giving on the terrace. The Secretary will plan the day with you.
